Developed in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Environment of the School of Engineering of Bilbao for the company by NATURGAS ENERGIA DISTRIBUCIÓN, SA. The life cycle analysis of biomethane production for automotive was developed by means of biogas valorisation and life cycle analysis of biogas injection valorized in a network.
The main objective was to calculate the environmental impact associated with Biomethane and its injection into the natural gas network of the PURINES ALMAZAN biogas production plant. A second objective was to demonstrate the concept of carbon-negative bioenergy by means of the life cycle analysis method, which consists of the combination of a biogas production plant with two prototype carbon capture and storage systems.
