Beissier trusts IK Ingeniería once again for the development of new EPDs

Beissier, a Basque company specializing in the manufacture and marketing of paints, fillers, mortars and other products for the preparation and repair of interior and exterior surfaces, has once again entrusted IK Ingeniería with the development and update of the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for part of its mortar product range.

This time, the project included the update of the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the Light Base Mortar range, covering products BMB 12003, BME 12003 and BME 12007, as well as the development of a new EPD for Adhesive Mortar BME 12005, thereby expanding the company's product portfolio with verified environmental information.

The declarations were prepared using 1 kg of packaged mortar as the declared unit for each of the products assessed. The environmental assessment was carried out in accordance with the international standards ISO 14025:2006, EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021 and PCR 2019:14 Construction Products (version 2.0.1).

The assessment follows a "cradle-to-gate with options" scope, covering modules A1–A3, which include raw material extraction, transport, and manufacturing, as well as the end-of-life modules C1–C4 and Module D, which accounts for the potential benefits and loads beyond the product's life cycle.

This project reinforces Beissier's commitment to sustainability and environmental transparency by providing customers and specifiers with verified information on the environmental impact of its products.

Throughout the project, IK Ingeniería played a key role, taking responsibility for collecting the life cycle inventory data, carrying out the environmental assessment and preparing the Environmental Product Declarations. We also supported Beissier throughout the auditing and verification processes required to obtain these EPDs.

The Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) have now been published and are available for consultation:
