CAF MIIRA is a global benchmark in the development of integrated rolling stock solutions for the railway sector. It provides engineering, manufacturing and maintenance solutions for wheels, axles, gearboxes, reducers and similar railway products.
This second Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) confirms CAF MiiRA’s ongoing commitment to information transparency and market communication of the environmental profile of its products, verified by an independent third party and providing environmental information for a range of resilient wheels.
In this case, the declared unit is 1 kg of the Urbos 100 elastic wheel. The assessment includes raw material acquisition, transport from suppliers and wheel manufacturing, all in accordance with the requirements of PCR 2023:01 Fabricated metal products of the EPD programme International EPD System.
At IK Ingeniería, we have supported the company throughout the process of collecting life cycle inventory data for wheel manufacturing. In addition, we carried out the environmental assessment of the results and prepared the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), accompanying the company through to the verification and certification audit.
