ULMA Architectural Solutions Scoop, a company belonging to the ULMA Group and specialised in prefabricated construction systems, has obtained an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its polymer concrete drainage channels, further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and environmental transparency.
The ULMA Group is one of the largest business groups in northern Spain and develops innovative solutions for different areas of the construction industry. As part of its activities, ULMA Architectural Solutions offers a wide range of products mainly focused on three segments: ventilated façades, architectural precast elements and drainage systems. The EPD obtained on this occasion corresponds precisely to one of the products within this latter business line.
The declaration has been developed using “1 kg of polymer concrete drainage channel” as the declared unit, the material used to manufacture these systems designed for the collection and conveyance of surface water.
The environmental assessment has been carried out in accordance with the international standards ISO 14025:2006, EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021 and PCR 2019:14 Construction Products (version 2.0.1). The study follows a “cradle-to-gate” approach, covering modules A1–A3, as well as the end-of-life modules C1–C4 and module D.
At IK Ingeniería, we played a key role throughout the entire process, being responsible for the collection of life cycle inventory data, the environmental assessment of the results, and the development/update of the Environmental Product Declaration. We also supported ULMA throughout the audit, verification and certification stages required to obtain this recognition.
The Environmental Product Declaration has already been published and is available for consultation here.
